Technical director David Weir added; “Evan is a brilliant young talent and we are delighted for him.
“He’s shown his ability at club and international level, after breaking into the team at the start of the year, and we are looking forward to working with him and watching his continued progress.”
Since joining Brighton from Bohemians in January 2021, Ferguson has established himself as one of the best young talents in the Premier League.
He has scored 11 goals in 31 appearances in the competition, and against Newcastle United earlier this season became the fourth player in Premier League history to score a hat-trick aged 18 or younger in the competition at the time.

Ferguson and Brighton have enjoyed a fine start to the season, as they sit in seventh place with 18 points after 11 matches.
They are also in a good position to qualify for the next stage of the UEFA Europa League after claiming seven points from four fixtures.
They are back in action this Sunday against Sheffield United at Amex Stadium aiming to end a five-match winless run.
