Bob Bradley became the first American to manage in the Premier League after he replaced Francesco Guidolin at Swansea City in October 2016.

Bradley's coaching career started with USA's Ohio University at the age of 22 in 1980, and he spent over 14 years in a managing or assistant role at university level.

In 1996, Bradley was hired by DC United to be assistant coach before becoming Chicago Fire's first head coach in 1998, leading the newly-assembled team to the MLS Cup and US Open Cup double.

The American was named MLS Coach of the Year, before another US Open Cup title was clinched in 2000.

After leaving Chicago in 2002, Bradley joined MetroStars for three seasons before his departure near the end of the 2005 regular season.

A stint at Chivas USA was followed by a chance to manage the American national team as interim coach towards the end of 2006.

The role was made permanant soon after and he guided USA to CONCACAF Gold Cup success in the summer of 2007, adding two runner-up places in 2009 and 2011, plus a final defeat in the FIFA Confederations Cup during a four-and-a-half year spell as manager.

Bradley then took over as Egypt manager in 2011, which was followed by a return to club football in January 2014 with Norwegian club Stabaek.

During his tenure, Bradley guided the Norwegian club to the Europa League before taking over at French Ligue 2 side Le Havre after almost two years in Norway.

The American departed Le Havre in October 2016 to join Swansea as manager.

His tenure in South Wales was short-lived, however, as Bradely left the club on 27 December with Swansea lying in 19th place after two wins and two draws in his 11 matches in charge.
