Kelvin Davis was appointed as Southampton’s caretaker manager on 3 December 2018, as an interim replacement for Mark Hughes prior to Ralph Hasenhuttl’s arrival at St Mary’s Stadium.
As a goalkeeper, Davis had spells at Luton Town, Torquay United, Hartlepool United, Wimbledon, Ipswich Town and Sunderland.
He then joined Southampton in July 2006 and made 271 appearances for the club in 10 years, helping Saints rise from League One to three successive top-eight finishes in the Premier League.
After retiring in 2016, Southampton kept Davis as their Football Development Executive, before being appointed as a first-team assistant coach in December 2017.
In his interim role, Davis oversaw a 3-1 defeat at Tottenham Hotspur before Hasenhuttl’s appointment as first-team manager.
