Jonjo Shelvey requested to play in the PL2 match at Fulham and it paid off as he got the only goal for Newcastle United to claim a fourth win in a row.
The midfielder, who has been recovering from a thigh injury, struck in the 61st minute at Motspur Park as the Magpies stay in fourth position and the playoff places of Division 2.
Fulham’s fourth consecutive defeat dropped them to 11th.
