Goals from Thibaud Verlinden and Oliver Shenton gave Stoke City their first win of the season as they triumphed 2-0 at Middlesbrough in Premier League 2 Division 2.
Isaiah Jones thought he had put Middlesbrough ahead with a well-taken finish, but he was adjudged to be offside.
Jones then fired into the side-netting before Stoke took the lead with seconds of the first half remaining, as Verlinden put the ball beyond Zach Hemming.
The Potters midfielder had two more chances after the break but both efforts flew over the crossbar, including an audacious lob.
Stoke finally moved out of sight in stoppage time when defender Shenton hammered in from close range.
