First-half goals from Jacob Ramsey and Ben Guy helped Aston Villa defeat Sunderland 2-1 for their first win of the PL2 Division 2 campaign.
Ramsey opened the scoring from close range in the 25th minute and Guy doubled Villa's advantage 11 minutes later.
Sunderland midfielder Benjamin Mbunga-Kimpioka pulled a goal back on 44 minutes, beating two Villa defenders before squeezing the ball past Viljami Sinisalo.
The Black Cats thought they had equalised 10 minutes from time but Bali Mumba was adjudged to have been offside when Mbunga-Kimpioka's shot flicked off him and into the net.
Villa held on to move up to sixth place on five points. Sunderland remain bottom with one point.
