Robbie Fowler says Liverpool's composure and character has been key to them pushing the Premier League title race to the wire this season.
The Reds returned to the top of the PL table on Sunday afternoon thanks to a 2-0 win over top-four chasing Chelsea at Anfield, with goals from Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.
And former Liverpool striker Fowler believes that their calmness under pressure, typified by the displays of defender Virgil van Dijk, could prove crucial as the battle for the title reaches the final stages.
"They know that if it's 0-0 late in the game, they have got the character and the players to get the results," he said.
"There's never any panicking. Virgil van Dijk is so cool. When you have got players like that around the dressing room it rubs off on everyone."
