Kurt Zouma and Marco van Ginkel both played for just over an hour as Chelsea drew 1-1 with Everton, which prevented the Toffees from returning to the top of the Premier League 2 Division 1.
Zouma played in the Blues' last PL2 match while it was a first appearance for van Ginkel since he suffered a knee injury in August.
Everton had to rely on a 41st minute equaliser from Harry Charsley, who curled the ball into the top corner after Dujon Sterling had put the visitors ahead at a foggy Southport, to leave the Toffees a point behind leaders Manchester City.
