Gylfi Sigurdsson has received a Milestone Award after making his 300th Premier League appearance, and a victory in the latest of his nine seasons in the top flight stands out as the highlight for Everton.
The Toffees midfielder is now up to 314 PL appearances since making his debut for Swansea City in January 2012.
And Sigurdsson says the 2-0 win at Liverpool this season, in which he scored a penalty to help his club claim their first triumph at Anfield since 1999, stands out.
"For Everton, the Liverpool game at Anfield, I came on but that was obviously a very special game for the club and myself," he said after being presented with his Milestone Award by the League and Coca-Cola.
“It’s a lot of games. Not going to lie, it’s not where I probably expected when I was young, when I was moving to England with Reading 15, 16 years ago, but it’s fantastic, hopefully many more to come."
Favourite goal
The Iceland international, who also played for Tottenham Hotspur before joining Everton in 2017, has netted 67 goals in his Premier League career, including a collection of spectacular strikes.
Asked for his favourite, Sigurdsson has picked out a long-range effort that hit the woodwork three times at Southampton in November 2017.
"Maybe the one against Southampton away," he said. "I hit the crossbar, post, the crossbar and in."
