With eight teams having a Double Gameweek 22, Fantasy Premier League managers will be weighing up whether one of their chips can help them make the most of the extra matches.

Using the Free Hit or Wildcard would allow them to bring in a whole squad of players who play twice, replacing those who play only once. But Fantasy expert Lee Bonfield has a word of caution.

“There are plenty of single Gameweek players [where] I’m happy playing them,” he says in the latest episode of the FPL Show.

“I’m not itching to get [Michail] Antonio or [Jarrod] Bowen out of my team for a Double Gameweek when they’ve got Leeds at home. [Trent] Alexander-Arnold and [Diogo] Jota, similar [at home against Brentford].

“From that perspective I will not be playing my second Free Hit chip. I’ll be saving that, maybe to navigate a Blank Gameweek or to take advantage of an even bigger Double Gameweek on the horizon, should we have it.”

The one chip that interests Lee in Double Gameweek 22 is the Triple Captain option. And his wife Sam, the other half of the FPL Family, believes Harry Kane (£12.2m) could reward anyone who backs him.

“His record against both Arsenal and Leicester is really good,” says Sam, a Tottenham Hotspur fan. “He nearly always scores against them, so I do think there is scope this week where you could play it.”
