The Scout looks at the Fantasy Premier League potential of the summer signings ahead of the 2022/23 season.

Djed Spence (TOT) £4.5m

The signing of Spence adds a second new wing-back to Tottenham Hotspur’s squad for the new season.

The 21-year-old impressed while playing on loan as a wing-back at Nottingham Forest last term, producing two goals and four assists in the Championship.

He follows the arrival of Ivan Perisic (£5.5m), who combined eight goals with seven assists as a left-sided wing-back for Inter Milan in Serie A in 2021/22.

Player Position Price
Wayne Hennessey (NFO) GKP £4.0m
Thomas Strakosha (BRE) GKP £4.5m
Djed Spence (TOT) DEF £4.5m
Nathan Collins (WOL) DEF £4.5m
Kalidou Koulibaly (CHE)  DEF £5.5m
Tyrese Francois (FUL) MID £4.5m
Cheick Doucoure (CRY) MID £5.0m
Keane Lewis-Potter (BRE) MID £5.5m
Christian Eriksen (MUN) MID £6.5m

Spence looks set to challenge Matt Doherty (£5.0m) for the role on the right flank, while winger Lucas Moura (£6.0m) adds further competition, having featured in this position during pre-season.

Crucially, though, neither Spence and Perisic have featured in Spurs’ summer friendlies so far, which suggests both may be eased into action gradually at the start of the campaign.

While Perisic certainly offers more potential out of the two, Spence's lower cost means he could offer huge value if he can secure a regular role.

In addition to his attacking potential, he joins a Spurs defence that thrived after Conte arrived in Gameweek 11 last season.

The north London side claimed 13 clean sheets from that point, the third-most in the league.
