Miguel Almiron enjoyed a dream homecoming to Atlanta, scoring the equaliser to earn Newcastle United a 1-1 draw against Chelsea in the Premier League Summer Series.
Almiron, who joined Newcastle from Atlanta in 2019, delighted fans at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium as he latched on to a pass from Anthony Gordon and placed the ball into the bottom left corner to send the crowd wild.
"It was an amazing moment for Miggy, he'll be so pleased inside," head coach Eddie Howe said. "We're all pleased for him, he's an incredible player and person so to do that here, where he's so loved, is amazing."
Almiron's strike in the fourth minute of first-half stoppage time cancelled out an opener from Nicolas Jackson.
After his outstanding cameo against Brighton & Hove Albion on Summer Series Matchday 1, the Chelsea striker has now netted in successive matches, as well as producing two assists.
Jackson made an excellent run in behind Dan Burn before calmly sliding the ball past Martin Dubravka from Ian Maatsen's pass.
Chelsea nearly found a winner in the final stages of the contest, but substitute Nick Pope produced a magnificent save to tip Ben Chilwell's shot round a post.

The point puts Chelsea in second place in the Summer Series table, behind Aston Villa on goal difference alone. The Blues play west London rivals Fulham, in Landover, in their final match on Sunday, while Villa face Brentford a few hours before at the same location.
