Tom Davies says he hopes he can be an inspiration to fellow Academy graduates after signing a new five-year deal at Everton.
The midfielder, who has made 17 of his 18 Premier League appearances this season after becoming a first-team regular under manager Ronald Koeman, says playing for his boyhood club is "an unbelievable feeling" and one that can be shared by others who come through the ranks at the club.
"I used to look at Mikel Arteta and aspire to be out there playing alongside my heroes and, obviously, Wayne Rooney and Ross Barkley who came through the Academy here, too, have been inspirational figures for me,” Davies told evertonfc.com.
“Hopefully, young players in the Academy now can see how I have been able to progress and make my way to the Everton first team."
