The Egyptian was involved six minutes later as Liverpool did take the lead, with his exquisite threaded pass splitting the Chelsea defence and finding Luis Diaz, who slid the ball past Robert Sanchez to score.
Sanchez was handed his Chelsea debut by Pochettino, with Kepa Arrizabalaga, who has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge, left out of the squad.

After Liverpool failed to clear a corner, Ben Chilwell headed the loose ball back into the area for fellow defender Disasi to finish from close range.
