Four Premier League clubs learnt their opponents in the 2023/24 UEFA Champions League after the group stage draw took place, with Newcastle United being given arguably the hardest challenge.

Bayern Munich Sevilla Paris Saint-Germain Man City
Man Utd Arsenal Borussia Dortmund RB Leipzig
Copenhagen PSV Eindhoven AC Milan Red Star Belgrade
Galatasaray Lens Newcastle Young Boys

Newcastle, back in the competition after two decades, have been drawn against Paris Saint-Germain, Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan, whose former player Sandro Tonali is set to have an immediate reunion with the club he left in the summer.

Defending champions Manchester City have been handed what appears to be a favourable set of matches. Pep Guardiola's side will face RB Leipzig, whom they faced last season and from bought Josko Gvardiol from. Red Star Belgrade and Young Boys are the other two teams in group G.

City are aiming to become the first English side to retain the trophy since Nottingham Forest in 1980.

There was further delight for Man City at the ceremony in Monaco, as Guardiola was named UEFA Men's Coach of the Year, while Erling Haaland won Men's Player of the Year.

Elsewhere, Arsenal, returning to the competition for the first time since 2016/17, also appear to have a less difficult draw than Newcastle. They will take on last season's UEFA Europa League winners Sevilla, PSV Eindhoven and Lens.

Manchester United have been drawn against Harry Kane's Bayern Munich, as well as Copenhagen, one of new signing Rasmus Hojlund's former clubs, and Turkish side Galatasaray.

PL clubs in Europa League and Europa Conference League

Premier League clubs in the 2023/24 UEFA Europa League and 2023/24 UEFA Europa Conference League will learn their group opponents on Friday.

Liverpool are in the Europa League, a competition they reached the final of in 2016 and are joined by Brighton & Hove Albion, who are entering European competition for the first time in their history, and West Ham United, who qualified after beating Fiorentina in the final of the Europa Conference League.

Aston Villa will hope to emulate West Ham's success in the Europa Conference League. They qualified for the group stages after resoundingly beating Hibernian 8-0 on aggregate.
