Trippier went over to the travelling supporters at Vitality Stadium after Dominic Solanke's two goals ended Newcastle's seven-match unbeaten Premier League run and left them seventh in the table.
"The fans are emotional, they have travelled a long way," Trippier told Sky Sports.
"I had a chat with one of them, saying we are giving everything and there's no need to panic.
"We got beat and we apologise for that result, but the lads are giving everything."
Newcastle played the match without a number of key players through injury and suspension, including Bruno Guimaraes, Callum Wilson, Alexander Isak, Sven Botman, Dan Burn and Jacob Murphy, while Miguel Almiron came off injured in the first half.
"We've lost a lot of players but this is when we need to stand up and give even more," Trippier told Newcastle's official website.
"The international break has come at a good time for us."

After the international break, Newcastle have back-to-back home matches against Chelsea and Manchester United, either side of a trip to Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League. Newcastle beat PSG in the reverse fixture but have dropped to the bottom of Group F, with two matches left, following back-to-back losses in the competition.
