James Maddison has handed Tottenham Hotspur a major boost with the news that he is set for an imminent return to action after taking part in full training.
The 27-year-old midfielder has been sidelined since suffering an ankle injury in a 4-1 defeat to Chelsea on 6 November, with the near three-month layoff the longest of his career.
However, head coach Ange Postecoglou has revealed Maddison is "feeling good" and could feature when they host Manchester City in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Friday evening.

Prior to his injury, Maddison had been a key figure since joining Spurs last summer from Leicester City, having produced three goals and five assists in 11 league appearances, while winning August’s EA SPORTS Player of the Month award.
Maddison’s imminent return is a welcome one as Spurs continue their pursuit of a top-four finish.
Between 11 August and 1 November, his 31 chances created, 115 passes into the opposition box, 15 shots on target and five assists had him ranked first among all Premier League midfielders.
