A late Nathan Ake goal helped Manchester City earn their first win at Tottenham Hotspur’s new stadium and booked their place in the FA Cup fifth-round.
After Guglielmo Vicario failed to hold Kevin De Bruyne's corner under pressure from Ruben Dias, Ake was on hand to convert for City in the 88th minute.
It was City’s first goal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after five consecutive defeats and 101 shots across those matches.
City dominated the match and had an early Oscar Bobb strike ruled out for offside.
Despite the defeat, Spurs will be boosted by the return of James Maddison, who came on in the 72nd minute for his first appearance since November.
Pep Guardiola’s side take their place in Sunday’s FA Cup fifth-round draw, as they continue the defence of their trophy.
City are next in action at home to Burnley in the Premier League on Wednesday 31 January, while Spurs host Brentford on the same day.
Honours even at Stamford Bridge
Chelsea and Aston Villa were forced to settle for a replay after their FA Cup fourth-round tie ended in a goalless draw at Stamford Bridge.
Douglas Luiz thought he had opened the scoring in the 12th minute, tapping in after Moussa Diaby's shot had deflected into his path. However, a VAR review ruled that the Brazilian had handled the ball before converting.
Emiliano Martinez denied Noni Madueke and Cole Palmer, as Chelsea pressed for an opener.
Villa looked the more dominant side in the latter stages but were unable to make the breakthrough.
The Blues, who had won their past eight home FA Cup matches, will take part in their first replay in the competition since 2018 in the week beginning 5 February.
Chelsea’s next match is a trip to Anfield for a Premier League clash with Liverpool on Wednesday 31 January, while Villa host Newcastle United a day earlier.
Forest held by Bristol City
Nottingham Forest’s match with Bristol City also ended in a 0-0 draw at Ashton Gate.
It is the second consecutive round in which the Championship side have held a Premier League opponent, after a 1-1 draw at West Ham United before they advanced in the replay, winning 1-0 at home.
The two sides will meet again at the City Ground also in the week beginning 5 February.
Before then, Forest return to the Premier League with a home fixture against Arsenal on Tuesday 30 January.
