The 23-year-old now has eight goals and seven assists in the Premier League this season as his treble put Man City two points off leaders Liverpool, who have played a match more.
Foden said the combination of increased minutes and playing centrally has helped him improve his performance levels.
"I'm really delighted with my performances at the moment," he told the club's official website. "I'm playing a lot of minutes now and playing more inside now.
"This is the best form I've probably had in a City shirt for a long time consistently. Long may that continue and continue working hard on the training pitch and I'll keep trying to get better.
"I'm a person who adapts and will play a lot of positions when needed. I know in this side I will play a lot of positions and I have to be ready."
Foden says his preferred role in the No 10 position, but his ultimate goal is to just keep improving.
"I’m enjoying playing anywhere in the middle, that’s where I see myself playing my best football. Hopefully I can keep getting more game time in the middle as much as I can.
"All I set for myself is to better my last season’s stats. That’s what I'm trying to do this year. Just improve every year, more goals and assists. Being an attacking player at City, that’s your goal. To create and score.
"I’m doing that well this season but I need to keep going and keep showing this level of performance more often."
Manager Pep Guardiola agreed with Foden in saying this is the best he has played under his management. The City boss also explained why a player like Foden can be so important in matches against teams like Brentford.
"He has played a lot of games, he is a guy that plays different positions and has the ability in spaces and the centre of goal because he likes to arrive in the box," Guardiola said.
"They [Brentford] are so deep, spaces are difficult so to have a player moving in these spaces is so important. He loves moving in the 18-yard box and he is playing his best season since we are together."
