See which players are unavailable for Premier League matches because they are suspended or are close to a ban due to their accumulation of yellow cards.
Who is suspended?
Nine players are suspended for Matchweek 17 but that number does not include Andrew Robertson.
The Scot received a red card in Liverpool's 2-2 draw with Fulham after denying an obvious goalscoring opportunity. He won't miss any Premier League matches, however, as he will serve his ban in the EFL Cup quarter-final versus Southampton in midweek.
Unlike yellow cards, red cards are carried over to the domestic cup competitions.
Brazilians Andreas Pereira and Joelinton both collected their fifth yellow cards of the campaign on Saturday, ruling them out their respective MW17 encounters. Pereira will miss Fulham's game against Southampton while Joelinton is out of Newcastle United's trip to Ipswich Town.
Crystal Palace's Daniel Munoz and West Ham United's Carlos Soler also collected their fifth bookings. Munoz will be forced to watch the match against Arsenal from the sidelines, while Soler is unavailable for the visit of Brighton & Hove Albion.
Having picked up a yellow card during Wolverhampton Wanderers' 2-1 defeat to Ipswich Town, Rayan Ait-Nouri was shown a second yellow after the final whistle following a pitchside confrontation, resulting in a red card.
The Algerian will miss the contest against Leicester City next weekend and remains on four yellow cards for the season, as neither of the bookings count towards the yellow card suspension threshold.
Ipswich's Liam Delap was also yellow carded in the post-match fracas, collecting his fifth caution of 2024/25. He is suspended for the visit of Newcastle.
Completing a hat-trick of MW16 bookings after full-time was Chelsea's Marc Cucurella. Like Ait-Nouri, he received a red card as it was his second yellow of the contest. He is banned for the trip to Everton next Sunday and remains on six yellow cards for the campaign.
Jack Stephens completed the second of his four-match suspension last Sunday as Saints lost 5-0 to Tottenham Hotspur.
The centre-half was dismissed for violent conduct in the MW14 defeat to Chelsea and, having previously been sent off in MW4, his ban was increased from three matches to four. Stephens will sit out the Premier League encounter with Fulham on Sunday 22 December as well as the EFL Cup quarter-final against Liverpool.
And Rodrigo Bentancur has one remaining Premier League match of his seven-game suspension to serve. The Uruguayan was sanctioned for an aggravated breach of FA Rule E3. His ban also covers the EFL Cup quarter-final against Manchester United.

Six players are free to return following their one-match bans for reaching the five-yellow card suspension threshold. West Ham's Emerson, Chelsea's Pedro Neto, Spurs's Yves Bissouma, Fulham's Calvin Bassey, Leicester City's Boubakary Soumare, and Wolves' Joao Gomes will all be back in contention for MW17.
Rico Lewis, sent off for two cautions in Manchester City's 2-2 draw at Crystal Palace in MW15, is available after missing the derby defeat to Man Utd.
Tom Cairney has completed his suspension following his red card for serious foul play in MW13. The Fulham skipper is available for the visit of Southampton.
And Alexis Mac Allister, who was due to miss the Merseyside derby against Everton on Saturday 7 December as a result of an accumulation of yellow cards, has now served his one-match ban. Bad weather led to the postponement of the match at Goodison Park and, instead, Mac Allister missed the draw with Fulham.
The Argentina international will be expected to return for Liverpool's MW17 trip to Spurs.
Who is close to a ban?
Players who receive a total of five yellow cards in their first 19 matches will be given a one-match suspension.
Note that Liverpool and Everton will play their 19th fixture in MW20, following the postponement of the Merseyside derby.
Morgan Rogers and Nicolas Jackson are among a group of 40 players on four yellow cards, a list that also includes Wolves defender Ait-Nouri.
Meanwhile, Cole Palmer and Bukayo Saka are among a growing number of players on three yellow cards.
Should a player be booked 10 times across their first 32 Premier League matches, they will be suspended for two games. Yellow cards are not carried over to the EFL Cup or FA Cup.
