Why the players were nominated
Hazeem Bakre: Middlesbrough's 19-year-old striker scored three goals in his two appearances across the month, with all three coming in a fine 4-2 victory against Aston Villa.
Nathan Butler-Oyedeji: The winner of August's PL2 award, 21-year-old Arsenal forward Butler-Oyedeji continued his fine form by recording a hat-trick of assists as the Gunners edged to a 4-3 win in a seven-goal thriller at Blackburn Rovers.
Daniel Cameron: Goalkeeper Cameron, 19, proved an unbeatable last line of defence as Sunderland bounced back from three consecutive defeats, keeping clean sheets in both their October matches, a 6-0 thumping of Derby County and 3-0 success at Norwich City.
Kiano Dyer: England Under-19 international Dyer, 17, had a memorable month and was named on the bench for Chelsea's UEFA Conference League match against Gent on 3 October. The attacking midfielder, who is the son of former Leicester City winger Lloyd Dyer, followed up his assist in Chelsea's 6-0 PL2 win at Fulham with another in their 3-1 away success against the Foxes.
Harrison Jones: Sunderland's 19-year-old midfielder was at his creative best in October, setting up the opening goal in the 6-0 home victory over Derby before producing two more assists as Sunderland beat Norwich 3-0.
Emilio Lawrence: Manchester City won both of their PL2 matches in October and Lawrence was at the heart of those wins. The forward scored one and assisted another in City's 4-1 success over West Ham United, following up with an assist in their 5-0 victory at West Bromwich Albion.
Jeremiah Okine-Peters: Winger Okine-Peters produced an attacking masterclass, scoring all four goals as Reading claimed a superb 4-1 comeback win against last season's PL2 Cup champions, Tottenham Hotspur.
Caylan Vickers: Signed from Reading in February, 19-year-old Vickers was the inspiration as Brighton & Hove Albion recorded a sensational 10-0 victory against Crystal Palace in his one full appearance last month. Vickers hit a second-half hat-trick while also providing assists for Joshua Duffus and Harry Howell.
