Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Matheus Cunha will serve a two-match suspension after being found guilty of misconduct following their 2-1 defeat by Ipswich Town on 14 December.
A statement from The FA read: "Matheus Cunha has been suspended for two games and fined £80,000 following the Premier League fixture between Wolverhampton Wanderers and Ipswich Town on Saturday 14 December 2024.
"The forward was charged with misconduct and it was alleged that he acted in an improper manner after the final whistle.
"He admitted the charge and the sanctions were subsequently imposed by an independent Regulatory Commission.
"Full written reasons for this case will be published in due course."
Which matches will Cunha miss?
The suspension means the Brazillian will be unavailable to play against Nottingham Forest at home in the Premier League on Monday 6 January, as well as Wolves' FA Cup third-round tie against Bristol City.
He will be available to return for his team's league match away to Newcastle United on 15 January.
The Brazilian has been a key player for Wolves this season, contributing as their top scorer (10 goals) and providing four assists, the joint-second most, in the Premier League.
What does it mean for Fantasy Premier League managers?
The news is a blow for Cunha's 24 per cent ownership in Fantasy Premier League.
Wolves' Brazilian has been in great form, only failing to produce an attacking return in one of his last four matches, scoring three goals and providing one assist.
After facing Forest, Wolves embark on a tough run of fixtures, taking on Newcastle United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Aston Villa and Liverpool over their next five league matches.
Cunha, who went off injured in Wolves' 2-2 draw at Tottenham Hotspur last Sunday, is already the most-sold player ahead of Saturday's 11:00 GMT deadline, with 195,000+ parting company with the forward.
