The Scout highlights key dates for Blank and Double Gameweeks over the remainder of the 2024/25 season to help managers in Fantasy Premier League to plan ahead.

The table below shows everything we know so far about Blank and Double Gameweeks this season.

A Blank Gameweek contains FEWER than the normal 10 matches, with at least one club having no Premier League fixture, and players from such a club having no chance of scoring Fantasy points.

Meanwhile, a Double Gameweek contains MORE than the normal 10 fixtures, with at least one club playing two Premier League fixtures in one Gameweek, and players from that club getting two chances to score Fantasy points.

In this table, for Double Gameweeks the teams in bold will be playing twice. In Blank Gameweeks, the fixtures listed are the ones that are at risk of being postponed because the team in bold are still involved in a cup competition which affects the relevant Gameweek.

Double Gameweek 25

In Double Gameweek 25, two teams will play twice: Liverpool and Aston Villa.

Villa are at home on both occasions, hosting Ipswich Town and Liverpool, while the Reds entertain Wolverhampton Wanderers prior to their trip to Villa Park.

If you still have your Triple Captain chip left to play, now could be the best time to use it on Mohamed Salah (£13.7m), as Liverpool's early exit from the FA Cup means they are unlikely to get any more Double Gameweeks this season.

Alternatively, you could play the new Assistant Manager chip on Arne Slot (£1.5m). By using it in DGW25, you can profit from four matches over the next three Gameweeks.

However, both Liverpool and Villa also have a Blank Gameweek 29 (BGW29) coming up, so be careful. The more you load up on players who have a DGW25, the more players you will be without in BGW29!

Given that Newcastle and Crystal Palace will also have a BGW29, Fantasy managers who are currently heavily invested in these four clubs should weigh up the benefits of bringing in more Liverpool and Villa players for DGW25 against the fact it will leave them with fewer players for BGW29.

Blank Gameweek 29

Liverpool and Newcastle United's progress to the EFL Cup final means that both clubs will suffer a BGW29.

Although Liverpool's trip to Villa has already been rescheduled and moved into Gameweek 25, Newcastle's home encounter with Palace has yet to be given a new date. Both clubs are therefore expected to be handed a Double Gameweek later in the season.

Managers could consider the Free Hit chip to navigate the reduced Gameweeks, given that both Salah and Newcastle's Alexander Isak (£9.5m) are among the three most-owned players in Fantasy, sitting in 71 and 60 per cent of squads respectively.

But it is best to keep the Free Hit chip until Gameweek 34, which coincides with the FA Cup semi-finals and could be the biggest Blank Gameweek of the season.

Up to EIGHT clubs could be without a fixture in Blank Gameweek 34 (BGW34), compared with only four clubs in BGW29.

Many managers are instead planning to use their free transfers to reduce the number of players with a BGW29 in their squads before Wildcarding in Gameweek 30.

Blank Gameweek 34

Gameweek 34, which takes place at the same time as the FA Cup semi-finals, is likely to be a popular time to play the Free Hit chip, as a number of matches could be postponed.

Nine clubs are already out of FA Cup and are free to play their Gameweek 29 fixture in Fantasy: Arsenal, Brentford, Chelsea, Everton, Leicester City, Liverpool, Southampton, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United.

But if their scheduled Gameweek 34 opponents are instead playing in the FA Cup semi-finals, they will NOT have a Premier League fixture.

As a result, at present there are only TWO matches confirmed to go ahead in Blank Gameweek 34: Chelsea v Everton and Liverpool v Spurs.

The matches which are postponed from BGW34 will require new dates, which could result in the largest Double Gameweek of the campaign. This will likely be the best time to play your Bench Boost chip, effectively giving you the chance to earn points from 30 matches from your 15 players.
