Joe Nuttall's double helped Blackburn Rovers beat Reading 5-3 in a thrilling match at Hogwood.
Nuttall, who netted a hat-trick as they beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 5-1 in their opener, converted a penalty after three minutes.
The striker had his second goal, also a penalty two minutes later, before Reading responded through Ramarni Medford-Smith.
Joseph Rankin-Costello made it 3-1 to Rovers, before Danny Loader dispatched a penalty for Reading.
Stefan Mols fired into the roof of the net just before half-time to make it 4-2.
It was five after 72 minutes, Matthew Platt rising highest to head in. Platt turned into his own net late on to make it 5-3.
Blackburn travel to Southampton, while Reading are away to Brighton and Hove Albion.
