This could be the time to swoop for Maguire.

Leicester City’s fixture schedule eases considerably, and the centre-back is poised to shine as an FPL option.

Despite facing Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool over the opening seven Gameweeks, the defender has still tallied 33 points.

He has been ever present in a Foxes backline that earned clean sheets in two of the other three fixtures, against Brighton & Hove Albion and at AFC Bournemouth last time out.

Maguire’s next opponents are West Bromwich Albion (H).

The Baggies have struggled as an attacking force this season.

Tony Pulis’ side have scored six goals from their seven matches. Their 68 shots is the fourth-lowest in the Premier League.

While they remain a big threat at set-plays, West Brom have also shown their own weakness in the air.

No defence has conceded more headed attempts (23) so far this season.

And Maguire could exploit that frailty.

The Foxes have already scored four goals from corner situations, more than any other side.

Maguire has been a key weapon in this respect, earning a goal and two assists so far.

The towering centre-back also boasts the potential for bonus points.

Maguire leads the Leicester ranks for clearances, blocks and interceptions (CBI) on 59, a key metric in the Bonus Points System (BPS).

His passing ability is also a factor.

Maguire has attempted more passes (228) than any other Foxes player, completing 78.6%.

That has helped him to 18 points in the BPS for pass completion, eight more than any team-mate.

After their testing start to the campaign, seven of Leicester’s next 11 opponents score two or less in the Fixture Difficulty Rankings (FDR).

Their major tests over this spell, against Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur, both arrive at the King Power Stadium.

That schedule promises to promote interest in Maguire, who is part of only 7.0% of squads.

He is an FPL defender likely to be favoured for bonus points when a clean sheet is secured, while also providing a goal threat at set-plays.
