With the second Fantasy Premier League Wildcard available, The Scout reviews the top targets to consider for the chip.

John Stones (MCI) £5.4m

While Manchester City team-mate Nicolas Otamendi (£6.5m) is in 33.5% of squads as the most-owned defender, Stones's recent injury-enforced absence means he is now £1.1m cheaper.

This is good news for FPL managers.

Otamendi’s 16 bonus points are more than any other defensive option in Fantasy, but a fit-again Stones will challenge the Argentinian from here on.

Although he has yet to get off the mark in the Premier League this season, Stones has hit the woodwork once, and his three goals in the UEFA Champions League proves he can rival Otamendi for threat in the opponents’ penalty area.
