Swansea City needed a 9-8 penalty shoot-out win to break Brighton & Hove Albion's resistance, as the 2016/17 champions reached the semi-finals of the Premier League Cup.
The holders fell behind in the 33rd minute of their quarter-final at Landore, when Brighton's Henrik Bjordal's cross was turned in by Viktor Gyokeres.
But Swansea levelled after the break through Dan James, forcing extra-time.
Swansea goalkeeper Steven Benda (pictured) saved George Cox's penalty in the last of the additional 30 minutes.
And Benda was the hero again in the penalty shoot-out, saving from Ben Barclay to clinch the win after 17 successful spot-kicks.
