We talked to four former Premier League players who faced three of the best teams of the Premier League era: Manchester United (1998/99), Arsenal (2003/04) and Chelsea (2004-06).
And we asked how those sides compared with the record-breaking 2017/18 champions Manchester City.
Kevin Davies
“When you look at Pep Guardiola’s Man City team, I think of flair, style and real technical quality,” says Davies.
“They’re an amazing team to watch. They dominate the football. They're one of the best teams I've ever seen in the Premier League era."
But the former Southampton, Blackburn Rovers and Bolton Wanderers striker feels United’s treble-winning side remain the all-time greats.
“What they did, and the way they did it, it will be hard for any team in the Premier League to rival that," he says.
“They had the belief and know-how, and they had match-winners. You knew you were going to be getting it from all angles and it was incredibly hard to compete with them.”
