2009: Sunderland 1-2 Manchester United
Federico Macheda scored the winning goal for the second successive match as Manchester United returned to the top of the table with victory at Sunderland.
The striker was making only his second Premier League appearance, having netted a stunning stoppage-time winner on his debut against Aston Villa six days prior.
Paul Scholes had given United the lead but Kenwyne Jones equalised at the Stadium of Light.
Macheda turned in Michael Carrick's wayward shot less than a minute after coming off the bench to take the eventual champions a point above Liverpool.
2012: Wigan Athletic 1-0 Manchester United
Wigan Athletic moved out of the bottom three with a 1-0 victory over Premier League leaders Manchester United.
Shaun Maloney's 20-yard finish, coupled with Manchester City's 4-0 win over West Bromwich Albion, cut United's gap at the top to five points.
It was a significant moment of the season as the Red Devils went on to miss out on the title to City on goal difference. Wigan finished strongly and stayed up in 15th.
