1994: Harry Redknapp appointed West Ham manager

Former West Ham United player Harry Redknapp was appointed the club's manager, succeeding Billy Bonds.

He led the club to a fifth-placed finish in 1998/99, securing a spot in the UEFA Cup via the Intertoto Cup.

Redknapp also introduced a number of young players from the academy, including Frank Lampard, Michael Carrick, Rio Ferdinand and Joe Cole.

He left at the end of the 2000/01 season, going on to take charge of Portsmouth, Southampton, Tottenham Hotspur and Queens Park Rangers in the top flight.

In total, Redknapp racked up 641 matches as a Premier League manager.

2012: Liverpool sign Joe Allen

Joe Allen was reunited with his former Swansea City manager Brendan Rodgers as he moved from the Welsh club to Anfield.

The midfielder spent four seasons at Liverpool, making 91 Premier League appearances and scoring four goals, before joining Stoke City.
