2010: Wigan Athletic 0-4 Blackpool
Blackpool announced their Premier League arrival in style, securing an emphatic 4-0 victory away against Wigan Athletic.
A Gary Taylor-Fletcher strike and a quickfire Marlon Harewood brace gave the visitors a 3-0 half-time lead, and Alex Baptiste was also on target in the second half.
Blackpool found themselves second in the table, only being denied top spot by Chelsea's 6-0 home win over West Bromwich Albion. Wigan sat 19th.
2016: Arsenal 3-4 Liverpool
Arsenal and Liverpool produced a seven-goal thriller on the opening weekend, with Jurgen Klopp's visitors scoring three times in 14 second-half minutes to triumph 4-3.
Theo Walcott gave the Gunners the lead, but Philippe Coutinho levelled in first-half stoppage time, and Adam Lallana, Coutinho and Sadio Mane then struck between the 49th and 63rd minutes.
It was only 4-1 for a moment as Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain immediately hit back, and Calum Chambers narrowed the deficit to a single goal, but Arsenal could not equalise.
