2009: Carlo Ancelotti appointed Chelsea manager
Carlo Ancelotti succeeded Guus Hiddink as Chelsea manager and agreed a three-year contract at Stamford Bridge.
In his debut 2009/10 season, Ancelotti led the Blues to the Premier League title and the FA Cup, as well as the Community Shield less than two months after his appointment.
He picked up for Barclays Manager of the Month awards in his time at Stamford Bridge, earning 48 wins in 76 matches before his departure in May 2011, which came after a second-place finish in the league.
2012: Liverpool name Brendan Rodgers as manager
Brendan Rodgers was confirmed as Liverpool’s manager, having succeeded Kop legend Kenny Dalglish.
The Northern Irishman had led Swansea City to 11th in their debut Premier League campaign the season before.
Rodgers guided Liverpool to seventh place in his first season at Anfield, before narrowly missing out on the Reds’ first Premier League title in 2013/14.
Liverpool scored 101 goals on the way to second place, two points behind Manchester City.
Rodgers won three Barclays Manager of the Month awards in three full seasons at the club before departing in 2015.
