Manchester United midfielder selects thunderous strike against Aston Villa as his favourite Premier League goal

In the 25 seasons of the Premier League, there have been fantastic displays of skill in every position, but a special group of players hold the accolade of scoring a century of Premier League goals.

Paul Scholes' illustrious career spanned 499 top-flight appearances, scoring 107 times and winning 11 Premier League titles for Manchester United.

Heading in to the 2006/07 season, it had been three years since the Premier Leaue crown was lifted at Old Trafford, but United had started the campaign well and would be top at Christmas if they could win at Aston Villa on 23 December 2006.

Cristiano Ronaldo gave the visitors a 1-0 lead before Scholes struck a 25-yard volley in to the net off the crossbar to help United secure a 3-0 victory.

The Red Devils would go on to lift the Premier League trophy at the end of the 2006/07 season.
