Aleksander Barkov's Matchweek 13 predictions
Brighton v Southampton: “I’ve got to go with my team Brighton. I’ll say 2-0. They have the best manager, Fabian [Hurzeler]. I just don’t see any reason for them to lose.” Brighton win
Brentford v Leicester: “I think it’s going to be tight, maybe 1-1, something like that.” Draw
Crystal Palace v Newcastle: “I think Newcastle will have a big bounce-back week after last week’s loss to West Ham. I’m going to say 1-0.” Newcastle win
Nottingham Forest v Ipswich: “I’m going to go with Nottingham. They’ve been really good this year, and also [I'm expecting] a big bounce-back week for them. I think they’re going to win 2-1.” Forest win
Wolves v AFC Bournemouth: “I like Wolves. I know they’re really close to the relegation line but they always have exciting matches. They’re scoring a lot of goals so I’m going to go for Wolves, 3-1.” Wolves win
West Ham v Arsenal: “The London derby! Obviously I think it’s going to be Arsenal, 3-1.” Arsenal win
Chelsea v Aston Villa: “This is an interesting one - both really good teams having good seasons. I like 'Cold' Palmer. He’s really good so he’s going to lead the way and they’re going to win 2-1.” Chelsea win
Man Utd v Everton: "Man Utd with their new manager, I think he’s going to lead the team to a victory at home, 1-0.” Man Utd win
Spurs v Fulham: "I’ve got to go for Tottenham. They’ve been good this year as well - they’ve been beating good opponents. I’m going to say 2-0.” Spurs win
Liverpool v Man City: “This is a match that a lot of people will watch. I’m looking for a big bounce-back. It’s going to be either a draw or a win for Man City. I’m going to say 2-1 Man City.” Man City win
How did Barkov become a Brighton fan?
Barkov became a Brighton supporter thanks to the Premier League club's head of medicine Florian Pfab.
"I know Florian through a mutual acquaintance in Canada. He offered me tickets, and here I am," Barkov said on Brighton's official podcast.
"It's becoming one of my favourite sports. I started doing Fantasy football with my buddies back home, and that way I follow a lot more. I guess Brighton is my team now."
