Mohamed Salah (£13.2m) has made the BEST EVER start to a Fantasy Premier League season on record after 13 Gameweeks.

Moving on to 133 points, he has surpassed his own previous high of 131 points at the same point of the 2021/22 season.

Ominously, he’s 38 points better off than he was at the same stage of the 2017/18 campaign, when he went on to set the record for the most points ever in a season, with 303.

Harry Kane 2020/21 109 242

The Egyptian converted a penalty and supplied an assist in Liverpool's 2-0 win over Manchester City to record his NINTH double-digit return this campaign, already equalling his tally from the whole of last season.

Salah surpasses Haaland

While Salah was getting the better of Erling Haaland (£15.0m) on the pitch in Liverpool's victory, he also surpassed him off the field in FPL.

It was the first time in 32 Gameweeks that he was the most-captained player, breaking the Norwegian's stranglehold on the captaincy.

In terms of ownership, too, the 32-year-old has overtaken his rival from Man City.

Snapped up by more than two million Fantasy bosses since Gameweek 10, Salah is now the most-selected player, found in 58.2 per cent of squads.

In contrast, Haaland has been among the two most-sold players in each of the last three Gameweeks, a period where his ownership has fallen from 71.9 per cent to 49.2 per cent.

GW13 most-captained players
Player Captained by Pts
Salah 3,021,686 13
Haaland 2,901,780 2
Palmer 883,300 14
Saka 571,121 18
Cunha 325,617 2

The top differential pick, Cole Palmer (£11.0m), rewarded over 883,000 Fantasy bosses with a 14 point-haul in Chelsea's 3-0 win over Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge.

Notching a goal and an assist, Palmer has now returned in 15 of his last 17 home outings. It was also the first time he'd produced a return against Villa having blanked in both of his appearances last season.

But the big winners of Gameweek 13 were the 571,000+ who chose to captain Bukayo Saka (£10.3m), with the Arsenal star equalling his best ever return in Fantasy.

The Gunners triumphed 5-2 away to West Ham United with Saka contributing a goal and a hat-trick of FPL assists to claim the maximum three bonus and an 18-point haul - a score he also achieved against Crystal Palace in Gameweek 28 of the 2022/23 season.

There was less to celebrate for those who captained Matheus Cunha (£7.1m), however.

The Brazilian, who was the No 1 transfer target ahead of Gameweek 13, blanked for the first time in five outings as Wolverhampton Wanderers were beaten 4-2 by AFC Bournemouth. Cunha had two shots against the Cherries but both were from outside the penalty area.

It's the fourth consecutive blank for the Gameweek's most-bought player, with Bruno Fernandes (£8.5m), Dominic Solanke (£7.6m) and Bryan Mbeumo (£7.8m) also failing to provide immediate returns in the previous three Gameweeks.

If there's any comfort to be had for Cunha's new owners, it's that Fernandes, Solanke and Mbeumo all returned the week after they were the top recruit.
