The Scout assesses the best way to invest in Liverpool in Fantasy Premier League for their pair of fixtures in Double Gameweek 24 (DGW24).
Liverpool play TWICE in Double Gameweek 24, visiting both AFC Bournemouth and Everton, so Fantasy managers have an extra opportunity to earn points.
The Reds also have a very favourable fixture in Gameweek 25, hosting Wolverhampton Wanderers at Anfield.

As a result of that fixture run, Cody Gakpo (£7.6m) has emerged as the No 1 transfer target ahead of Saturday’s 11:00 GMT deadline.
More than 545,000 managers have transferred in the Dutchman after he delivered his season-high haul of 16 points against Ipswich Town last weekend.
Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7.3m) is the most-bought defender and fourth most-bought player overall, with 131,000 new owners.
Certainly, as the most-owned player in Fantasy, Mohamed Salah (£13.7m) is a must-have. He is also likely to be Triple-Captained by a host of his owners. Indeed, more than 460,000 managers currently have the chip active for Double Gameweek 24.
Despite blanking in two of his last three outings, the Egyptian’s potential for bumper hauls have helped him top the standings on 222 points, giving him a 55-point advantage over any other player.
Meanwhile, Liverpool’s DGW24 also arrives in the very Gameweek when the new Assistant Manager chip becomes available, offering another tactical approach.
See: All you need to know about Assistant Manager chip
The Assistant Manager chip allows you to pick a manager and earn points from their club's results for three Gameweeks in a row. So if you played it on Arne Slot (£1.5m) in DGW24, you would profit from FOUR matches across three Gameweeks, as it would also include Liverpool's visit to Manchester City in Gameweek 26.
Notably, Slot has amassed 183 points this season – more than any player in Fantasy apart from Salah.
If you currently own Salah and Alexander-Arnold, for example, and have already played your Triple Captain chip, then using the Assistant Manager chip on Slot over three Gameweeks essentially gives you a third Liverpool pick without using a precious free transfer.
Expect rotation
Liverpool’s busy schedule across all competitions certainly suggests that Slot will have to rotate a number of players.
They are currently two matches into a spell featuring eight games in all competitions across a 26-day period, including their next three Premier League matches.
Indeed, it’s worth bearing in mind that Liverpool have TWO matches in between their pair of DGW24 fixtures, although it’s fair to say that the second of those contests – away to Plymouth Argyle in the FA Cup – is the one in which Slot would be expected to rotate the heaviest, as it precedes the Merseyside derby at Everton.
Why Alexander-Arnold has huge potential for assists
A look at the data shows why Alexander-Arnold’s potential for points at both ends of the pitch makes him the best Liverpool player to pick alongside Salah.
The England star has produced six assists and eight clean sheets this season, bettering his output from last season by one assist already.
Alexander-Arnold has created 43 goalscoring opportunities for his team-mates, with 14 of those deemed “big chances created” - situations where the player is expected to score.
Those two totals are second only to Salah for the Reds and are each more than any other defender in 2024/25 Fantasy.
Liverpool's top creators 24/25
Player | Assists | Chances created | Big chances created |
Salah | 13 | 50 | 17 |
---|---|---|---|
Alexander-Arnold | 6 | 43 | 14 |
Szoboszlai | 6 | 30 | 6 |
Gakpo | 3 | 28 | 6 |
Mac Allister | 4 | 30 | 5 |
Robertson | 0 | 29 | 4 |
Diaz | 3 | 27 | 3 |
Elsewhere at the back, both Alisson (£5.5m) and Virgil van Dijk (£6.4m) have started every league match they have been available for, an indication they are more likely to be immune to rotation than the rest of the Liverpool squad during this period.
Is Diaz or Gakpo the better attacker to pick alongside Salah?
If you’re looking to double up on Liverpool’s attack, it looks like a straight battle between Gakpo and Luis Diaz (£7.5m).
Both have mainly avoided rotation lately. Gakpo has started each of Liverpool’s last 11 league matches, since Gameweek 12, while Diaz has started nine of the last 10.
Gakpo’s run of starts has lifted his output considerably in this spell from Gameweek 12 onwards. Indeed, his 65 points are second only to Salah, with Alexander-Arnold claiming third on 54 points.
Diaz's recent lack of attacking returns is clearly a concern here. He's managed just four across this spell, compared with Gakpo's nine goal involvements.

So, who are the best Liverpool picks?
Salah and Alexander-Arnold are far and away the best two Liverpool picks over the coming period.
Liverpool’s home match against Wolves after their DGW24 suggests that investing in their attack with your third pick is likely to offer the greatest upside.
Tellingly, Gakpo has been involved in 39 per cent of the Reds’ goals when selected since Gameweek 12, compared with the 16 per cent of Diaz. That gives Gakpo the edge over the Colombian, while Alisson’s cost and security of minutes helps him run the Dutchman close.
For those who have already played their Triple Captain chip, Slot could prove a great differential with the Assistant Manager chip, particularly if you are wary over the prospect of rotation in the busy upcoming period.
