The Scout highlights key dates for Blank and Double Gameweeks over the remainder of the 2024/25 season to help managers in Fantasy Premier League to plan ahead.

The table below shows everything we know so far about Blank and Double Gameweeks this season.

A Blank Gameweek contains fewer than the normal 10 matches, with at least one club having no Premier League fixture, and players from such a club having no chance of scoring Fantasy points.

Meanwhile, a Double Gameweek contains more than the normal 10 fixtures, with at least one club playing two Premier League fixtures in one Gameweek, and players from that club getting two chances to score Fantasy points.

In this table, for Double Gameweeks the teams in bold will be playing twice. In Blank Gameweeks, the fixtures listed are the ones that are at risk of being postponed because the team in bold are still involved in a cup competition which affects the relevant Gameweek.

Blank Gameweek 29

Liverpool and Newcastle United's progress to the EFL Cup final means that both clubs will suffer a BGW29.

Liverpool's trip to Villa was moved and played as part of Double Gameweek 25. Meanwhile, Newcastle's home encounter with Palace set to be played in Double Gameweek 32.

Managers could consider the Free Hit chip to navigate this reduced Gameweek, given that both Mohamed Salah (£13.8m) and Newcastle's Alexander Isak (£9.4m) are among the three most-owned players in Fantasy, sitting in 72 and 56 per cent of squads respectively.

But it is best to keep the Free Hit chip until Gameweek 34, which coincides with the FA Cup semi-finals and could be the biggest Blank Gameweek of the season.

Up to seven fixtures are still at risk in Blank Gameweek 34 (BGW34). Meanwhile, only four clubs (two fixtures) will blank in BGW29.

Many managers are instead planning to use their free transfers to reduce the number of players with a BGW29 in their squads before Wildcarding in Gameweek 30.

Double Gameweek 32

As a result of Newcastle's involvement in the EFL Cup final, their fixture against Crystal Palace has been rescheduled into Double Gameweek 32.

Newcastle are at home on both occasions, hosting Manchester United and then Palace, while Palace have two away trips, first to Man City and then against Newcastle.

If you still have your Triple Captain chip left to play, you could choose to play it on Isak. The Newcastle star is top for attacking returns (goals and assists) among all forwards, with 24.

Alternatively, you could play the new Assistant Manager chip on Eddie Howe (£1.5m) or Oliver Glasner (£0.8m). By using it in DGW32, you can profit from four matches over three Gameweeks.

Blank Gameweek 34

Gameweek 34, which takes place at the same time as the FA Cup semi-finals, is likely to be a popular time to play the Free Hit chip, as a number of matches could be postponed.

Thirteen Premier League clubs are already out of the FA Cup and are free to play their Gameweek 34 fixture in Fantasy: Arsenal, Brentford, Chelsea, Everton, Ipswich, Leicester City, Liverpool, Newcastle, Manchester United, Southampton, Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United and Wolves.

Seven Premier League clubs are through to the quarter-finals meaning seven fixtures remain a doubt as these teams' scheduled Premier League opponents are still in the FA Cup.

At present there are just FOUR Premier League matches confirmed to be going ahead in Blank Gameweek 34: Chelsea v Everton, Liverpool v Spurs, Newcastle v Ipswich and Wolves v Leicester.

The FA Cup quarter-final draw took place on Sunday and there are three all-Premier League ties where one top-flight team is guaranteed to be eliminated and freed up to play their Gameweek 34 fixture.

FA Cup quarter-final draw

Preston v Aston Villa
AFC Bournemouth v Man City
Fulham v Crystal Palace
Brighton Nottingham Forest

These fixtures will be played the weekend ahead of the midweek round of fixtures that make up Gameweek 30.

Should Aston Villa defeat Preston, then their Gameweek 34 fixture against Man City would need to be postponed. For that fixture to be on, both Aston Villa and Man City would need to be eliminated from the FA Cup in the next round.

Similarly, if Man City beat Bournemouth, then the Cherries fixture against Man United would be played in Gameweek 34. However if Bournemouth progress, then this fixture would need to be rescheduled.

If Brighton progress to the semi-finals of the FA Cup, their BGW34 fixture against West Ham will be rescheduled. However, if Brighton are defeated then that fixture would be played in BGW34, as West Ham have already been eliminated from the competition.

Meanwhile if Nottingham Forest are eliminated then their BGW34 fixture against Brentford would go ahead as scheduled as the Bee's are already out of the cup. If Forest progress that fixture would need to be rescheduled.

As a reminder, the table at the top of this article shows which Premier League fixtures remain at risk of being postponed.

The matches which are postponed from BGW34 will require new dates, which could result in the largest Double Gameweek of the campaign.

This will likely be the best time to play your Bench Boost chip, effectively giving you the chance to earn points from 30 matches from your 15 players.
