Arsenal returned to the top of the table as substitute Reiss Nelson scored two goals in three second-half minutes and created another in a comfortable 5-0 win over Nottingham Forest.

The Gunners took a fifth-minute lead when a cross from Bukayo Saka was headed in by Gabriel Martinelli.

Saka would later go off injured to be replaced by Nelson for his first Premier League appearance of the season.

Nelson then went on to net twice in quick succession shortly after the break.

He turned provider for Arsenal's fourth, when he teed up Thomas Partey to send a stunning curling effort beyond Dean Henderson.

Martin Odegaard added a fifth on 78 minutes, as Arsenal moved two points above Manchester City. Forest remain bottom with nine points.

Century for Rashford

A landmark goal for Marcus Rashford proved decisive as Manchester United edged past West Ham United 1-0 to climb up to fifth.

The breakthrough came on 38 minutes, Rashford rising highest to head in a Christian Eriksen cross for his 100th Man Utd goal.

West Ham pressed for an equaliser in the second half and David De Gea superbly denied Kurt Zouma and then Declan Rice, as United held on to extend their unbeaten league run to five matches and move a point behind Newcastle United in fourth.

West Ham drop to 13th on 14 points.
