Mike Jackson was appointed as interim head coach of Burnley in April 2022.
In his 18-year career as a centre-back, Jackson played in the EFL for Crewe Alexandra, Bury, Preston North End, Tranmere Rovers, Blackpool and Shrewsbury Town.
He captained Blackpool to promotion from League One to the Championship via the playoffs in 2007.
At Shrewsbury, he took his first steps into management, joining the coaching staff in 2010.
From January 2014, he took charge of the first team for the rest of the 2013/14 season, but then reverted to assistant manager at the club, before departing for the same role at Tranmere in October 2016.
In July 2020, he was promoted to manager at Tranmere, but left the club three months later.
At the start of the 2021/22 season, Jackson was appointed Burnley's Under-23 manager but was then placed in charge of the first team following Sean Dyche's departure in April 2022.
