Alexis Sanchez scored in both halves as Arsenal ended their two-match losing run with a 2-0 home win over Hull City.
Hull began brightly and Oumar Niasse forced a save from Petr Cech, but Sanchez scored from close range on 34 minutes after Kieran Gibbs’s shot had been blocked.
Adama Diomande headed a great chance for a Hull equaliser over late on.
Sanchez doubled his tally to move top of the scorers’ chart on 17 goals with a stoppage-time penalty after Sam Clucas had handled Lucas Perez’s goalbound header, earning a red card.
Arsenal move third, nine points behind leaders Chelsea, while Hull remain on 20 points.
