First-half goals by Romelu Lukaku and Jesse Lingard gave Manchester United a narrow victory at West Bromwich Albion.
United took the lead when Lukaku headed in Marcus Rashford's cross on 27 minutes.
Lingard doubled United's advantage eight minutes later when his goalbound shot was deflected in for his fourth goal in five league matches.
With 13 minutes left, substitute Gareth Barry got a goal back from close range, West Brom's first under new head coach Alan Pardew.
But United held on for their sixth win in seven league matches.
United are 11 points behind leaders Manchester City, while West Brom, winless in 16 matches, remain second from bottom.
