Ayoze Perez struck with 10 minutes remaining as Newcastle United earned a 1-0 victory over Huddersfield Town at St James' Park.
Newcastle had a number of first-half chances, the best falling to Matt Ritchie whose effort was saved by Jonas Lossl.
Huddersfield gained more of a foothold in the second half, Zanka seeing his diving header blocked on 63 minutes.
But Perez proved the match-winner, converting Kenedy's pass from close range to extend the Magpies' unbeaten Premier League home run to six matches.
Newcastle move up to 12th with 35 points, while Huddersfield Town are four points back in 16th.
