Stoke City moved up to seventh place in the Premier League 2 Division 2 table after Scott Wara's first-half goal gave the Potters a 1-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers at the bet365 Stadium.
Tyrese Campbell, Thibaud Verlinden and Oliver Shenton all went close for the hosts before 17-year-old defender Wara poked home Verlinden's corner in the 35th minute.
A shot from Pedro Goncalves hit the post as Wolves responded in the second period but goalkeeper Harry Burgoyne stopped Oliver Shenton and Daniel Jarvis from adding to Stoke’s lead.
The Potters are next in action at Southampton on 18 September while Wolves host Reading on the same day.
