Goals in either half from Shane Long and Stuart Armstrong earned Southampton a 2-0 win over Aston Villa.
Long's second Premier League goal of the season put Saints ahead on eight minutes. The striker converted Moussa Djenepo's cross with his midriff from close range.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg almost added a second on the hour, but his powerful effort was well kept out by Pepe Reina.
Saints dominated with 28 shots in total, and confirmed their win in stoppage time when substitute Che Adams set up Armstrong to score with Reina out of his goal following a Villa corner.
Southampton's win moves them on to 34 points, but they stay 12th.
Villa remain 17th with 25 points.
