Riyad Mahrez and Kevin De Bruyne were on target as Manchester City extended their lead at the top of the table to 12 points, beating Brentford 2-0.
Joao Cancelo, Raheem Sterling and Aymeric Laporte missed chances in the opening 30 minutes before Mahrez gave Man City the lead from the penalty spot.
The Algerian fired into the top-left corner on 40 minutes after Sterling had been fouled by Mads Roerslev.
Brentford posed a threat on the counter-attack and Rico Henry had a shot saved by Ederson just before the break.
But City doubled their advantage in the 69th minute, with David Raya making an error to lose the ball before parrying Sterling's shot to De Bruyne, who slotted into the empty net.
Pep Guardiola's side move to 60 points ahead of second-placed Liverpool, who have two matches in hand. Brentford stay 14th on 23 points.
