"Overall the performance was good, people will be surprised how well they played today. It's a marathon, but if they continue to play this way they will be okay. Today is optimism for their day."
"I am really pleased with the win, it was a fight to welcome us back to the season. It wasn't a great game from us but we found a way to win. When you see the performance from Wolves in preseason you know they are a good team and luckily we took the points."
"The goal was a simple one. A cross into the box and Varane was their to head it and correct his earlier miss. They needed that, they played badly but they take the points."
Raphael Varane (£5.0m) records his best return in #FPL to move to the top of the Fantasy player standings. The defender scored, kept a clean sheet and earned the maximum bonus for a 15-point haul, surpassing his 14-point tally against Brentford in GW35 of the 2021/22 season.
Andre Onana became the 10th goalkeeper to keep a clean sheet on Premier League debut for Manchester United and first since Joel Pereira vs Crystal Palace in May 2017.
Set to claim a share of the bonus, the most-selected goalkeeper in Fantasy, Andre Onana (£5.0m), delighted his 2,252,615 owners with a nine-point return. Onana made six saves earning two save points.
"Manchester United played an ugly game but this is how to win games time from time, but not all the time. United were lucky to escape."
3 - Varane, Wan-Bissaka
1 - Onana
"I think it should have been a penalty for Wolves but once it wasn't given they are right not to overturn it on VAR. It is not a big mistake by the referee."
Well. United win. How? I do not know. Luckily we'll have all the reaction from the studio to tell you exactly how coming up next.
Onana claims a vital cross. Not long now.
VAR is looking at a potential Wolves penalty for Onana colliding with Kalajdzic. No further action. No penalty. And Gary O'Neil is booked for his response. File it under "seen them given."
Another Wolves chance goes begging. There was also a pitch invader who was quickly removed, but expect a few more minutes added on.
It just isn't going to happen for Wolves. They've been superb. But they haven't kicked it in the goal. And that is important.
Seven minutes added time.
Subs. Subs everywhere. Scott McTominay is on for Marcus Rashford in a clear sign of United doing their best to hold on. For Wolves, Sasa Kalajdzic on for Joao Gomes.
"Fabio Silva with another opportunity - target hit, but the keeper was in the way."
What do I know? Wolves have another excellent chance but Onana blocks well from Fabio Silva's snap shot on the angle. Oh...and just repeat that sentence because it happened again immediately. Same players, same result.
United are all over Wolves now. Rashford's had two chances blocked and (as I did say at entry 21:13) it looks like United are going to nab a 1-0 win after so much Wolves pressure.
And United immediately make a change after the goal. Facundo Pellistri is on for Antony. There's also a change for Wolves, as Fábio Silva is on for Matheus Cunha. Cunha's miss was really poor, but aside from that, he's had a fantastically entertaining outing.
"Ait-Nouri has been a weak link for Wolves and he didn't react quickly enough. Varane stepped forwards and United, for the moment at least, have got what they desired."
Great work from Aaron Wan-Bissaka who runs onto a lofted through ball into the box. He's beaten Ait-Nouri and is clear of him and lifts the ball into the box where Raphael Varane heads home from six yards.
"Golden chance. Absolutely golden. Another let off after tremendous work once more from Matheus Cunha."
Wolves. Should. Be. Winning. Another cavalier break through Matheus Cunha. Whose smart play with Hwang sees the ball fall to Neto on the penalty spot but under a bit of pressure he fires straight at Onana.
Changes for the home team. Jadon Sancho and Christian Eriksen are on for Mason Mount and Alejandro Garnacho. Wolves still yet to make that second change.
Righto, here they come. Hwang Hee-Chan is on for Pablo Sarabia. Looks like Fabio Silva is set to come on too...
Subs are coming up. But fear not Fantasy fans, we are past the 60 minute mark.
"One of the key factors is that Wolves have won more of the duels all game. They've been aggressive. But Ait-Nouri has been caught out a few times on the left."
Goodness me Matheus Cunha is fun to watch. He forces a save from Onana with a tame 20-yard effort, but the run to get there, his second marauding charge of the night, cut straight through the middle of the home team's defence. Great fun.
If I were a betting man (and I'm not), I'd say that this has Man Utd one-nil written all over it. Wolves have had so many opportunities and have arguably been the better side, but I refuse to believe United aren't going to pinch a goal at some point.
"One of the misses of the season. He should be burying that."
What a save! Is it a save!? Or is it the post? Oh no...oh no, oh no. It's actually a terrible miss from Matheus Cunha. Think Fernando Torres but at the other end of the ground. I'd assumed Onana had scrambled across and blocked it, but Cunha has managed to put it wide from four yards after the ball found its way across the box to him.
Yep, that change is official as we get back under way. Victor Lindelof is on. Also confirming Harry Maguire's standing as fourth choice centre-back...
Looks like United are going to make a change at half-time. Victor Lindelof looks set to come on for Lisandro Martinez who picked up an early yellow card.
Since that start of 2021-22, no side has gone into half time drawing 0-0 in the Premier League on more occasions than Wolves (30 - level with Chelsea).
"Wolves have defended well when they had to. Manchester United struggled to get a clear cut chance, there's been a lack of movement."
"Ugly, boring game in my book. The passing was bad, decision making was bad and there were some silly yellow cards for Manchester United. Wolves had the better chances to score."
