Going into the final round of fixtures, Group C was particularly close with all five players still in with a chance of qualifying.

A last-minute winner in extra-time by Fulham's Jarvis Denham (ITzJxrvis) against Tottenham Hotspur's professional gamer Simon Nystedt (Zimme) effectively knocked out both players.

Instead, Jordan Croft (Croftyboy925), who had already played his four matches, endured his nervous wait that was ended by the welcome news he had progressed to tomorrow's knockout stage on the head-to-head rule.

Crot, representing Huddersfield Town, qualified after narrowly beating both Fulham and Spurs earlier in the day.

At the same time, also in the group, Manchester City's Kai Wollin (Deto) beat Simon Duxbury (Fizzy_EFC), the competition's oldest competitor, representing Everton, to secure a place in the quarter-finals as group winner.

Elsewhere, Jas Singh (Jas1875) and Owen Venn (Venny) playing for Chelsea and Southampton respectively, came through difficult final fixtures in Group B and Group D respectively to finish with 100 per cent records.

Head-to-head also came into play in Group B as Cardiff City's Luke Mcilwee-Davies (LukasMcilwee) finished second ahead of Craig John-Clement (Craig-jc), of AFC Bournemouth.

Arsenal's Curtis Poole (Paps) qualified as runner-up in Group D.

In Group A, despite losing his final game against an already-eliminated Sheikh Iqbal (sheikh367) from Burnley, Crystal Palace's Damian Augustyniak (damie) progressed as group winner ahead of Manchester United's Kyle Leese (KyleLeese_).
