Manchester United earned a 5-0 victory at St James' Park to deny Newcastle United the chance to move joint-top of Division 2.
Nishan Burkart, 18, struck twice in the opening 25 minutes, before Tahith Chong made it 3-0 in the 33rd minute.
In the second half Mason Greenwood scored a superb free-kick before an own goal by Lewis Cass wrapped up Man Utd's best win of the season.
Victory puts the Red Devils in sixth place on 30 points.
Newcastle, who are guaranteed a playoff place, are three points adrift of leaders Wolves with one match left. Only an improbable goal swing and an unlikely sequence of results for the top three would give them a chance of winning the league and automatic promotion to Division 1.
