Arsenal and Chelsea made encouraging progress in their bids to reach the UEFA Europa League final as the Gunners came from behind to beat Valencia 3-1 in their home leg and the Blues also rallied to draw 1-1 at Eintracht Frankfurt.
Unai Emery's side got off to a poor start at Emirates Stadium when they fell behind early on to a Mouctar Diakhaby header but two goals in seven first-half minutes by Alexandre Lacazette settled the nerves of the home crowd.
A stoppage-time strike by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang gave Arsenal a two-goal cushion to take to Spain next Thursday.

Chelsea fightback
Chelsea also conceded an opening goal in their semi-final encounter with Frankfurt.
The Bundesliga side took the lead through Luka Jovic's header on 23 minutes but the Blues responded through Pedro's precious away goal on the stroke of half-time.
Chelsea might have taken a lead to defend at Stamford Bridge on 9 May but David Luiz's free-kick came back off the bar.
