Gethin Jones' goal was not enough to stop Everton being beaten 3-1 by Hertha Berlin in the Premier League International Cup at Goodison Park.

Sidney Friede scored a quickfire double to put the visitors in control and Fabio Mirbach made it 3-0 by the 35th minute.

Jones scored early in the second half, but the Toffees dropped to third in the Group F table on three points - one behind Hertha and Athletic Bilbao, who beat Reading 3-2.

The final round of group matches sees Reading host Hertha on Wednesday 14 December and Everton entertain Bilbao a week later.
